Description
The two storey Boeng Takeo Guesthouse is set on the lakeside road and is the most comfortable, tourist orientated guesthouse in Takeo. There is a large upstairs terrace with great views over the lake towards Ta Mok’s house and there is a small shop on the ground floor sells the bare essentials. Rooms are clean, but some of the bathrooms are a little grungy — check that the flush works before accepting a room. All come with cable tv with 6 zillion channels. While air-con is available, you’ll probably not need it. Very little English is spoken, but the staff are friendly.

Description
Angkor Borey loses out to the Boeng Takeo due to its lack of water views, but if you’re not worried about that, this is pretty good value as the rooms are better than nextdoor. The terrace is also larger than the one nextdoor, though the view, over the semi-burned-out market is certainly less than spectacular.

Description
The Phnom Son Long Guesthouse is set nextdoor to the Angkor Borey Guesthouse and as with its neighbour is very clean with good value rooms and friendly staff. The small terrace looks over towards the seriously delapidated market but there are no water views here unfortunately. The lakeside guesthouse is better value due to the views.
